Economy surges 3.1% in 4Q 2009
According to preliminary data released by the statistical office, the Polish economy grew by a solid 3.1% in the fourth quarter of 2009. The most important factor in this growth was exports, which grew year-on-year by 2.2%. Other contributory factors include domestic consumption (up 2%), investment (up 1.6%) and infrastructure spending with the assistance of EU funds.
