A shortage of qualified labour is an acute problem in many Western European countries. With a population of 38 million and an unemployment rate of over 10%, Poland provides a solution. Polish workers have a well-earned reputation for being well-qualified, hard-working and keen.

West European labour markets have been progressively opened to Polish citizens since Poland joined the EU in May 2004. The first countries to offer unlimited access were the UK, Ireland and Sweden. The latest countries to do so were Belgium, Holland and Denmark in May 2009.

The following Western European countries now offer unlimited access for Polish citizens: UK, Ireland, Sweden, Greece, Finland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Switzerland.
